Club News

First of all, a big ‘Thank You’ to James for organising our team for the Compass Sport Trophy which happened on Sunday at Moors Valley. It was a lovely Spring day (eventually) and there was a really sociable atmosphere both in our club tent but also amongst all the teams. I believe James is going to provide a write up in a Post on this website in due course. But well done to everyone for their efforts – we gave Wimborne a run for their money, and we wish them well in the final in Devon later this year.

After an event such as this one, or any other come to that, I’d like to encourage you to write a Post on this website now and again, giving your thoughts about your experience – good or bad! – or describing your course, or a particular leg on your course, or anything that might be of interest to other club members. We really want this website to be interactive – so if you want to know how to add a post, just follow Peter’s instructions in the Members section – ‘How to Create  a Post’. It may look a bit complicated, but once you’ve done it a few times, it’s easy!

Another way to keep in touch with what’s going on in the club is to look at the Committee Meeting Minutes – in the Members section. Last week’s Minutes should be there shortly.

As the lighter evenings approach, our monthly Club Nights, organised alternately by us and WIM, will hopefully encourage those of you who aren’t into night orienteering to come along. The next one is on April 3rd – an urban event in Wimborne, followed by the Night League Presentations. (see our Events page for more details).

We are looking for someone to organise our Club Night event on July 3rd at Littledown/Kings Park – so if you fancy having a go, but maybe not too sure howto go about it, let me know and we can find someone to ‘mentor’ you through the process. It’s really satisfying – so please think about it.

All the upcoming Local Events can be found here.
