Club News, Event Reports

Sunday just gone was the WIM local event in Ringwood North, an area many of us are familiar with, some good courses offered and many club members went along,  Notable results Arthur Brooke, 2/39 on the Green and Jon 5/44 on the Blue, Nice to see Gavin Clegg doing well on there as well who has just re-joined us again- welcome back Gavin.

Monday SARUM gave us the Salisbury City race again, with a massive 57 taking part in the Odds and Evens score, also 14 on a straight score with most of the SARUM youth doing that challenge- so 71! 5 years ago we couldnt have imagined that many people turning up on a dark monday night- so keep it up clubs. Next event is BADO a week away in Kempshott, do ask for your maps in advance to give the team an idea of numbers.

Finally a word from Jolyon.

“This weekend we were back in the Peak District at MDOC Twin Peak event at Goyt Valley. This was the 3rd Interland selection event in as many weeks (the previous two in Northumberland and New Forest). Tough forestry plantation high up above Fernilee reservoir near Buxton with lots of complex vegetation changes, in freezing temperatures. Lyra came 1st in W14, registering 3 great results in the 3 events so far, making all the travel worthwhile! Attached is my brown map.”
