There were several courses offered 1K, 2.1K, 3.1K, 4.4K outside the park and a 30 minute score based on controls within the park. The weather was bad with frequent rain squalls and a force 6 wind. About 16 people braved the elements but Richard and Dale declined a run, Dale was resting before his next NF Marathon. They amused themselves by calibrating my disputed 100m pacing distance.
Several people had a go at estimating two distances from the start to a telephone box and Start to the war memorial. Results were :-
Which makes Dale the most Eagle Eyed but a 5K course must feel just like running a 15K to Eric. Thanks to the club members for turning up and helping in foul weather, it makes putting on the event worthwhile. Also thanks for the generous donations given. Alan Hooper
