Wessex Region Night League 2009/2010 Fixtures                                                                                                                                                                                              

Events are usually 60 minute score events with 25 controls and count towards the league.  Events start as soon as possible after dark and start times then last for 1 hour. Street/Park events on Friday’s start at 6pm and again start times will last for 1 hour. Day/Night events are events that continue after dark for the benefit of the Night League. Sat 6 WESSEX Informal Day & Night Events, Brownsea Island. This will be the INAUGURAL event for Brownsea Island, so please come along and support your Club. See the Flyer on our website, www.wessex-oc.org as numbers are limited to 35.

WEDNESDAY ARMY ORIENTEERING EVENTS. 

BAOC organise orienteering events most Wednesdays for the Army and civilians are welcome to attend as well.  To find out more about these events, go to their website:  www.baoc.org.uk

CAR SHARING TO EVENTS

As the price of fuel is rising by the day, it makes sense for all of us to share transport to events whenever possible.  So if you are planning to go to any of the forthcoming events, please let others know via the yahoo group (if you are on it).  If you are NOT on the Yahoo group, get in touch with Ian Middlebrook at themiddlebrooks@tiscali.co.uk who will give you details of how to join.  Joining this group does not mean you will be inundated with unwanted emails, but you will be kept informed of what is happening in YOUR club and any updates which you might need to know about.

Once you are registered, you just need to email the Yahoo group and everyone on the group will receive this email, so it is then easy for people to contact each other to arrange sharing lifts to events.

PLEASE NOTE  We run a local informal every month, on a Saturday.  These are designed to help newer members and improvers to hone their orienteering skills.  THESE EVENTS WILL BE FREE. 

Coaching will be available at all our Informal events for all abilities.  The coaching is also FREE.

For further details of events, see your copy of SINS or log on to the SWOA website or the relevant Club’s website (links through BO).  Please check before setting out, as some events have been known to change at short notice.  If you would like to share transport, contact a committee member who will put you in touch with someone who can help.
